Hi, I'm Katherine Lee for About.com and this is Nanette from Artscetera and this is Sydney, and today we're going to make a summer craft for kid. What is this one celled?

Making a Paper Towel Roll Airplane

Okay. We're going to make a paper towel roll airplane. It doesn't look like much now, but it'll end up looking like that. First thing to do is cover the table with a craft  bag - just save the grocery bags.

Next thing we're going to do is get our paint ready. So Sidney, why don't you squeeze paint in different spots and make a little pallet like artists use.

Catherine the reason I only have three colors plus white is because it helps kids remember that the primary colors can make every color. So, instead of giving them every color they can mix it themselves and then they personalize it how they like.

While Sidney's doing that, let me show you how to make the wings.  I just use old cereal boxes and that way we recycle a little bit. Then we put a slit in your tube – on the side like this and you stick your wings in there - the kids can even do it and then you paint those up.

The next thing you want to do is make a nose for your plane. So Katherine maybe you can take that – so then you just tape that together like this .

Beautiful. When we're all done then it looks like you glued some little flowers on there  –

You can glue flowers, you can use sparkles, you can just use some of this glitter with some glue -  however they want  to decorate it.

Right. Thank you so much for showing us this craft. For more, go to About.com
