Hi, I'm Katherine Lee for About.com and this is Nanette from Artscetera.com and here in Sidney and we're all gonna do a summer craft together. Right?
Yes, you got it.
And what is this one?
Making a Travel Journal with Kids
Ok we're gonna make a simple travel journal that each kid can personalize for themselves. We get just a regular composition notebook at any five and ten, you get whatever a little things you want to glue on.
Since we're into our vacation mode, I'm into the maps. So the way I did this one. We view the map and we use sequins to follow the roads. So, you can just glue sequins to follow your roads or you can glue these little guys, they're cute too. And inside, maybe we'll have Sidney, Sidney want to put your name on your journal?
How to Make a Travel Journal with Kids
"So what you're child can do, Katherine, is I made a little timeline and you know you can say, “Ok, we left Brooklyn at 5:00. And then we got to…
In the morning?
In the morning!
That's the time I always wake up.
Oh wait, that's early…all right. So, as the trip goes along, the kids can mark when they left, where they arrived…
Ok, as they go along, they'll plot their journey, and then they can put in things maybe post cards whatever reminds them of the journey.
That's great. Or things they saw on the road or whatever.
Great – brilliant. Brilliant.
Then that's something they'll have forever.
That's awesome. Thank you for showing us a great craft. For more go to About.com.
