We going to check to see are they conscious; if they're unconscious, then we go ahead and check for breathing, and if there is no breathing, then we'll give two breaths. We then check to see is there a pulse and if there's no heartbeat, then we need to give thirty chest compressions. The indications for giving CPR to a child over 4 are the patient who is unconscious, who is not breathing and has no heartbeat.
