Transcript:Top 5 List: Best Phones for Storing Pictures and Music

Hi, I'm Shane Murphy, your technology guru for About.com. Today, we'll review some of the best photo and music specialized phones on the market. Some cell phones are specially designed to tackle media storage and creation, as opposed to web surfing or working. All of the phones we'll see here have powerful tools for viewing and filming, listening to and recording whatever format you're particular to.

Phones for Music and Photo Storage: Sony Ericsson CyberShot C905a

The Sony Ericsson CyberShot C905a concentrates in taking pictures so much that the front looks more like a camera then a phone. The 8.1 megapixel camera is supported by an excellent flash, red eye deletion, face detection, an image stabilizer, and a function that takes 7 pictures in one second so you can pick the best. The micro SD slot comes standard with just a 2 GB card, but will accept much higher. The only major drawback is the 240x340 pixel screen and short talk time.

Phones for Music and Photo Storage: iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 is no slouch when it comes to recording and viewing pictures and video, with its HD video recording and 5 megapixel camera supported by an LED flash. But it really shines as a music player, since it's interface is easily understood to anyone who's been using an iPod over the past decade and it seamlessly connects to the iTunes store to acquire media.

Phones for Music and Photo Storage: HTC Surround 7

The HTC Surround 7 was designed to function as your entertainment center away from home, with built in 16 GB memory and a knack for handling multiple media formats. This phone stands out because of its powerful, exposable speaker. Simply slide out the stand and rest on a flat surface and you're getting one of best mobile viewing or listening experiences around.

Phones for Music and Photo Storage: Droid X2

Probably the most impressive all around media phone is the Droid X2, thanks to its incredible 540x960 resolution screen and 8 megapixel camera with dual flash. You can shoot HD video and capture audio with three microphones, then connect your Droid to any HDTV via it's HDMI out, where it can act like any other media player and stream your work. You can fit tons of music on the 8 GB internal memory, supplemented with a micro-SD card, and the audio player can handle any format under the sun.

Phones for Music and Photo Storage: HTC Evo 3D

One of the more unique media phones on the market is the HTC Evo 3D, so named because it's capable of taking 3D pictures and movies with two 5 megapixel cameras. Watching your 3D content on the lavish 4.3 inch touch screen is a breeze since you don't need any glasses. Storing and transferring your media is supported by 1 GB of internal memory with a micro SD card slot, and a combo USB/HDMI port.
