Transcript:How to Update Your iPhone Software
Hi, I'm Devita Javobs and today I'm going to show you how to update your iPhone.
Before Updating Your iPhone, Back Up Your Settings
When you begin the process of updating your device, iTunes performs a standard backup. Before you attempt to update your iPhone, download the latest version of iTunes. When you open iTunes, if a new version is available, you will be prompted to download and install the latest version. If you are not prompted, you can also visit the iTunes section of the Apple website. Connect your iphone to your computer using the USB cable that came with your phone.
Time and Memory Needed to Complete and iPhone Update Varies
Select your iPhone from the device menu to bring up the data summary. In the Version submenu, click update to check for new updates for your iPhone. If an update is available, iTunes will prompt you to download and install the update for your phone. Depending on the size of the update and your connection speed, updating your iphone could take as little as a few minutes or as long as several hours.
And that's how to update your iPhone. Thanks for watching. To learn more visit us on the web at About.com.
