Transcript:5 Best Touchscreen Phones

Hi, I'm Shane Murphy, your technology guru for About.com. Today, we'll review some of the best touchscreen phones on the market.

Touchscreen Phones: iPhone 4

The iPhone 4's 3.5 inch multi-touch screen isn't the biggest on the market, but it scores points for the crystal clear colors emitted from its retina display at 326 pixels per inch. This responsive touch screen is protected by an incredibly durable and scratch proof glass used on helicopters and high speed bullet trains.

Touchscreen Phones: Torch 9800

BlackBerrys aren't known for their touchscreens, but if you definitely need a combination touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard on a candy bar style, your best bet is Research in Motion's Torch 9800. It's 3.2 inch multi-touch screen is a bit more responsive than other similar style models and of a comparable size, so you'll still be able to browse web pages with a flick of a finger.

Touchscreen Phones: HTC EVO Shift 4G

If you're looking for an excellent, modern multi-touch screen that also has a slide out QWERTY keyboard you should consider the HTC EVO Shift 4G. With this phone, you get the enhanced messaging offered by a physical keyboard combined with a crystal sharp 3.6 inch touch screen at 800x480 pixels. The powerful Android operating system helps ensure a snappy pick up with minimal lag.

Touchscreen Phones: Samsung Infuse

A widely acknowledged king of touch screen phones, the Samsung Infuse is a very powerful 1 ghz dual core processor device with a massive 4.5 inch screen. The extra screen space makes it especially easy to navigate web pages and quickly type out messages on the generously sized keys. Nothing about the size detracts from its responsiveness, though.

Touchscreen Phones: HTC Sensation

The HTC Sensation is another powerhouse smart phone with the standard big screen 4.3 inch display backed up by a 1.2 ghz processor powering the latest Android build. The difference here is that the Sensation offers a 960x540 screen resolution, the sharpest currently out there, so the pictures you take with its 8 MP camera will look simply stunning on your screen.
