Hi, I'm Shane Murphy, your technology guru for About.com. Today, we'll look at the best LG phones on the market.

LG Phones: Wine II

The LG Wine II is perfect for individuals wanting a simple, streamlined experience from their phone. This flip model can make easy all of the essentials for talking and messaging, thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity and easily scalable font size. LG used an extra loud speaker phone and made the color display especially large with a high resolution. Coupled with a generous share of dedicated buttons for texting and other functions, the Wine is perfect for senior citizens looking for a very cheap, no frills phone.

LG Phones: Rhythm

LG's Rhythm is another inexpensive model, this one in the candy bar style with a vertically sliding front piece that reveals the keypad. Designed after the ubiquitous iPod, the touch screen slider makes music navigation and selection a breeze, delivering crystal clear audio via Bluetooth, headphone jack, or FM transmitter for listening in your car. The Rhythm supports a 16 GB Micro SD card and a USB connection, ensuring a robust selection of music at your disposal.

LG Phones: Beacon

The Beacon is LG's messaging champ, a flip out phone with a full QWERTY keyboard for lightning fast texting and email. Combined with their consolidated "bubble threaded" messaging system and contact organizer for synching, this is one of LG's best messaging phone at the relatively cheap price of $100. The 2.8" touch screen is a nice perk, but is a little small to be fully appreciated, especially without a web browser.

LG Phones: Voyager

If you're looking for an inexpensive but more robust touch screen experience, check out the LG Voyager, another $100 phone that also flips out for a QWERTY keyboard. The Voyager's keyboard still feels great, but the real draw over the Beacon is the larger, more responsive touchscreen and the ability to use a data plan for web browsing and video streaming.

LG Phones: Revolution

LG's current smart phone on the top of the pile is the Android-powered Revolution, a 4.3 inch touchscreen that typically rings in for $200. The Revolution is well worth the money though, with HD video recording, 5 MP pictures, and a starting memory of 16 GB. The 4G LTE connectivity lets you surf the web and download video at super-fast speeds, even while talking on the phone. You can even use the Revolution as a mobile hotspot.
