For this recipe you will need:- 6 oz chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp shortening or corn syrup
Melt the Chocolate: Option 1 - Double Boil
One way to melt the chocolate is to use a double boiler. First heat an inch of water in a pan. Place the chocolate and the syrup in a metal bowl and place over the boiling water. Stir constantly in it will melt completely within a minute or two minutes.Melt the Chocolate: Option 2 - Microwave
Another way to melt chocolate is to place the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave safe dish. Cook for 30 seconds on high and then mix so it all melts.Prepare a Homemade Pastry Bag
Pour the melted chocolate into a Ziploc bag. With scissors, cut the corner of the bag.Form the Chocolate Lattices
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Drizzle the chocolate onto the sheet with zigzags in both directions to form 8 lattices.Refrigerate the Chocolate Lattices
Place in the refrigerator to chill until they are firm.Serve the Chocolate Lattices
