Transcript:How to Change Your Internet Explorer 7 Homepage
Hi, I’m Shane Murphy, your technology Guru for About.com. Today we’ll review how to change and customize your Internet Explorer 7 homepage. Setting your homepage is typically the first step towards fully customizing your browser to your needs. Thankfully, Internet Explorer makes this pretty simple.
How to Set Your Homepage
One of the more straightforward ways to do this is simply navigate to the page you want to set as your homepage. Now click on the arrow next to the home icon. Now click add or change homepage.
This will bring up a new window giving you two options. The first will make your current page your homepage, as displayed right above it.
The second will add this current page to the list of pages you’re currently using as homepage tabs. This means that when you access your homepage, say by clicking the home icon at the top, it will open in different tabs all of the homepages you’ve set here. Click yes when you’ve your selection.
How to Remove a Homepage
You can remove any of your homepages by clicking the same arrow next to the house icon, and selecting the “Remove” option. Each of your homepages will be displayed here, allowing you to click any you want to remove, or just remove all.
How to Change Your Homepage
Alternatively, you can change your homepage by first clicking “Tools” on the top right of the browser , then Internet Options at the very bottom. The top set of options allows you to type in your desired homepage, set it as your current page, revert back to the default, or just keep it blank.
