Hi! I am Jenece Amella, Makeup Artist and Owner of stylesbyjenece.com in Denver, Colorado. Today's topic is a long-shaped face.

How to Identify a Long Face Shape

So Valarie has a long shaped face and the way that we can be able to tell that is by measuring from edge of her hairline all the way down to her chin. See that's longer here and here than it is here and here making her face long and moving out a little bit.

How to Make a Long Face Shape Appear Wider

So what we wanted to do was widen her face a little bit more. So what I did is I widened her eyebrows and took them out straight just a little more like that. Bringing that out over here, not bringing it down and out, we want to bring it out just like so. Then, I took her a blush, a light blush, so that we can move that out and really just pop those cheeks a little bit. So that will push that up even just a little bit more.Her eyes are a little more smoky which gives you the focus on her eyes, and her lips move out just a little more with a darker lip color.

How to Do Your Hair to Make a Long Face Shape Appear Wider

Now, for her hair, I really love the idea that she has the bangs, and it will be cut. But once they get cut and they lay, they're going to lay nicely right above the forehead, and now what this does again is actually shrink that forehead creating a smaller version of the long face. Then, she's also got longer layers in here.So when you move her hair out and more towards her face and make it full, it really, really encompasses her face and flatters that and makes it more of an elongated oval curly shape. She's got some natural curl in here too. So she could easily take a spritzer and scrunch her hair and that would add even more dimension to her elongated face making it little more of the oval shape that we're trying to achieve. There you have your oval or your long shaped face made into an oval shaped face.
