Hi. I'm Hillary Hubbel for About.com and today I'm going to give you some tips for styling homecoming hair.

Practice Your Homecoming Hairstyle

Make sure you start early enough in the day so you have time to fix any mistakes you might make. If you're not experienced with hair, you may want to practice your style a few times before the day of homecoming. If you plan on drastically changing your hair make sure you do so about a month ahead of time so you have time to fix it in case you don't like how it turns out.

Hold Curls with Thermal Hairspray

Don't wash your hair right before curling it. Freshly washed hair doesn't hold curls very well. Be sure to loosen your curls so they look more casual and not overly stiff. Using thermal spray for curling and hairspray for hold, your style will stay in all night.

Crisscross Bobby Pins to Hold Hair

Be sure to crisscross your bobby pins so they don't fall out while you're dancing. Be sure not to use too much hair spray or your hair will start to look unnaturally stiff. Your hair salon may also have some books or magazines you can look through to get some ideas. Thanks for watching. For more tips and information visit Beauty.about.com.
