Transcript:Quick Tips: How to Make an Oil and Sugar Exfoliating ScrubHi I'm Kaytie Sproul here for About.com and here's a quick tip for making your own exfoliating sugar scrub at home. Let's take a closer look!
Supplies for Making an Oil and Sugar Exfoliating ScrubAll exfoliating scrubs require two basic components; the coarse and the moist. In this case, the sugar will obviously be the coarse and for the moist we'll use olive oil.
Instructions for Making an Oil and Sugar Exfoliating ScrubBegin by taking 2 tablespoons of sugar and placing it in a small bowl. Next we’ll add the olive oil. The key is to not add to much, so with that in mind begin adding one to two drops at a time, mixing between each subsequent addition. You’ll want the to turn the sugar into a nice coarse paste, and you’ll likely end up using equal parts sugar and oil to get there. Once well mixed apply as desired, just stay away from the eyes and any areas of broken skin. That’s how you make a homemade sugar scrub.
