Hi, I'm Aubrey for About.com, and I am here with Andrea at Friends Hair Salon in Summerville, Ga., and today we're going to show you how to style a long bob for an oval face. An oval face is one of the best face shapes because you can pull off most any hairstyle. Today we are going to be styling a straight long bob and a curly bob.
Style a Straight Long Bob for an Oval Face
Start off by sectioning off small sections of your hair and begin straightening. It is easier to flip your ends under as you go so you don't have to come back with a curling iron. Once your hair is all your straightened, part your bangs into a side part. Take your fingers and push your roots and ends up to add volume. Then, spray with hairspray and smooth down any loose hairs. This is a classic hairstyle, and looks great on an oval face.
Style a Curly Long Bob for an Oval Face
For the next hairstyle you will need a 1/2 inch and a 3/8 inch curling iron. Start curling your top layers alternating between the two curling irons to add diversity to your curl. Next, take a one inch curling iron and curl the shortest layers under. Also use the curling irons to curl the hair that frames your face under. Once you are done curling, use hairspray to hold the curls in place. Then lightly scrunch the curls up to add volume and you are done.
