Hi! My name is Ren Allen with Faces By Ren Professional Makeup Artistry, and today I am going to show you how to make a homemade banana mask that will deeply hydrate and moisturize your skin. So let's get started.Ingredients for a Banana Face Mask
Okay, so for the banana mask, what you want to start with is a half of a ripe banana and I am going to use a mortar and pestle to smash the banana up. You can also use a fork and a bowl, anything that cause the banana to be completely smooth. And you are going to use about two tablespoons of finely ground oats and I used a coffee grinder to actually grind these into a very smooth powder. It takes about 10-12 seconds as all, so you want your oats to look like this. And two tablespoons should do it, and you are going to pour about one tablespoon of honey, and with the oats. And I like to use raw honey because all of the minerals are still intact. This product has not been heated or changed or altered in any way. Then scoop your banana in, and if your skin is really dry you can add the whole banana. You will get a nice thick mask with this one, consistency is a lot like a baby food, and if you want to you can add about a teaspoon of baking soda for a little added exfoliation. The oats are going to exfoliate, but they are going to hydrate and this is a really nice exfoliator, baking soda.
Instructions for Applying a Banana Face Mask
This mask is a little bit thicker, but a make up brush will still help you apply evenly, and you can start anywhere on the skin, but just avoid the eye area. The banana is giving her a lot of hydration and it's also about some alpha-hydroxys, which soften the skin and hydrate deeply. This is going to really nourish a lot of nutrients in the skin. This particular mask, you should probably get several applications out of, with the one recipe, and if you store it in your refrigerator in a tight-sealed jar you should get about three days out of this mask. Now this mask since it's a hydrating, moisturizing mask, we are going to leave this on about 15-20 minutes and longer is acceptable too. This mask, your best off removing some it with a wash cloth so you don't get too much of the banana in your sink or your shower. So remove it this way first and then go ahead and splash the face with warm water and pat it dry.
And that's how you make a banana mask with basic ingredients found in your kitchen.
