Supplies for How to Dye Hair Platinum Blond
The tools you'll need are:
- on-the-scalp lightener
- a 20 or 30 volume peroxide
- a bowl and brush
- cotton strips
- and a base to protect your client's skin
Steps for How to Dye Hair Platinum Blond
The first thing you'll need to do to dye hair platinum blonde is to establish what level you're starting with on your client's hair. Megan has a natural level five base, we're going to lift this as high as it will go until it reaches platinum blonde safely and without any damage. When dying hair platinum blonde, you want to achieve maximum level of lift and a violet based undertone. In order to achieve that, you're going to have to remove any unwanted tones and by doing so you're going to glaze with a violet-based toner.
Before You Begin to Dye Hair Platinum Blond
Before you begin, make sure to section your client's hair into four quadrants. Before you attempt to take your client to platinum blonde, you want to make sure that you protect the skin using a skin base or a Vaseline. Be sure to do a strand test and a skin test to make sure that your client has no sensitivities or allergies or resistance to the chemical you're about to apply.
Applying Dye to Hair
Always start in the back right quadrant when beginning your platinum blonde application, apply your color quickly and evenly and protect each parting with cotton strips to make sure your color does not bleed on to your next parting.Always make sure to check your level of lift in between the processing time to ensure that you're not over processing the hair. After you have finished applying the on-the-scalp lightener to the roots, you're going to go back through the back towards the front and lighten any additional pieces that need to match up to the platinum blonde. To remove any unwanted yellow tones after you have processed with your on-the-scalp lightener, be sure to glaze your client's hair with a violet-based toner. Once you've reached the desired level of lightness, you apply a violet-based toner to ensure that it reaches that platinum stage. And this is how you dye hair platinum blonde.
