Hi! My name is Tye Coe, I'm a celebrity hair, makeup and fashion stylist for About.com. Today we are at the fabulous BeSu Salon and Day Spa here in New York City and I am going to show you how to style a sleek, long bob.

Prep Hair

In styling a long bob you want to first start off with a bit of Moroccan or protective oil. So we are going to just take it start out at the ends and work it throughout the hair. That's going to help add a little polish and protect the hair from the heat.

Flat Iron the Long Bob

After you've done that, you're going to start in the back section. We are going to take about a one inch section today, and we have got our flat iron and we are just going to begin in straightening the sections perfectly straight. No bends, just straight down. You want to continue that throughout the hair in the one inch sections. Through the top and the sides just going straight.

Finish Styling Hair

So we have gone through and flat-ironed all the sections perfectly straight. I am now going to go back through with same Moroccan oil that I was using just to polish out the sections and make everything very slick and polished. You want to make sure that when you are styling sleeker hair styles that you are at the root with your flat iron and that you have done everything really perfectly straight.

And you can always finish with a styling paste to piece out sections if you like. Or you can just leave the oil so it's really up to you. And this is how you style a straight, sleek long bob.Thanks for watching! To learn more visit us at About.com.
