Hello! My name is Laura Kiorkis and I'm owner and operator of Gemini of Chicago Hair Salon in Peoria, Arizona. Today, I'm going to show how to get blonde highlights at home. When choosing a highlighting kit for home use, there are many options available at the drugstore or at your local beauty supply store.

Supplies for Doing Blond Highlights at Home

The different at-home highlighting kits available may include a cap highlighting or frosting technique where you put a cap on the head and pull through certain pieces that you would like blonde or another kit available is one where a comb is used to apply highlights to the surface of the hair where it may give you a more sun-kissed or natural look.

Notes About Doing Blond Highlights at Home

When highlighting your hair at home always keep in mind that it is not recommended to go more then two shades lighter than your existing color. Usually in a frosting cap kits you'll find a cap to place on the head and pull through the highlights, the tools needed to do so and your colors and chemicals.
