Hello! My name is Donna Abate. I am a makeup artist at Norris of Houston Salon & Day Spa. Today I am going to show you how to change the shape up your eye with makeup.

Prep Eyelids to Change Eye Shape Using Makeup

I have already prepped Sandy's eyes. We put concealer, foundation, powder, blush, and lips. So now we are going to start with the eyeshadow. The eyeshadow base is the product that makes the eyeshadow stay all day and not crease. It's essential for long-wearing makeup.

Her eyes are close-set -- when I do the shadow we are going to make the eye look wider by emphasizing this part of the eye and make it a little bit darker here and lighter in here.

Use a Light Highlight Color to Change Eye Shape Using Makeup

Okay, first we are going to do the highlight color, starting at the bottom of the eye, sweeping back and forth, working all the way up to the eyebrow. All the eye makeup ends along from the corner of the nose, to the corner of the eye, to the corner of the eyebrow. We are going to use a soft matte peach color.

The second color is called your background color. I am going to start that one, once again, at the bottom of the eye and sweep back and forth, working our way up. It finishes just below the brow bone, so the lighter color is staying on the bone and the second medium color is three-fourths of the way.

Contour Eye to Change Eye Shape Using Makeup

What we are going to change the shape of the eye is with the next color, the contour. Starting from the outside of the eye, we are going to sweep back and forth, like a half-moon shape, put that color right on the crease, and blend it so it's nice and smooth.

The contour color stops three-fourths of the way over, so this part is going to stay lighter right through here. We are going to use green, starting the longest imagery angle, we are going to sweep in a third of the way over at an angel. So it's going to be like this shape and this shape. The angle of the accent color is emphasizing this outer third part of her eye, detracting from the closeness here. So it's bringing the eye further out.

Apply Eyeliner to Change Eye Shape Using Makeup

Next, we are going to do the eyeliner. I am going to use a green and the eyeliner is going to stop right past the halfway mark. And we want the liner to be on top, stopping three-fourths of the way over, and on the bottom right past that halfway mark, and bringing the eye out.

Next we are going to do mascara, using just the tip of the brush and we are going to brush back and forth. That's makeup for eyes that are close-set.
