Transcript:Hair Don'ts for a Round FaceHi, my name is Tye Coe for About.com. I am a celebrity, hair, makeup and fashion stylist. Today we are at the fabulous BeSu Salon and Day Spa here in New York City, and I am going to give you a few styles to avoid if you have a round face.
Don't Pull All the Hair BackThe things to remember, if you have a round face: you do not want to wear your hair going back away from your face so you want to avoid any type of ponytails where all of your face is exposed. It is just going to make your face appear rounder.
Another thing that you do not want to do if you have a round face: I know that is is very popular for people to want bangs that go straight across, but instead of wearing a bang that goes straight across your forehead it would be more becoming to have an angled, side swept bang. So you want to cut the face at an angle as opposed to wearing anything straight across the face.
Create Volume at the Crown, Not the Side of the FaceAnother style to avoid if you have a round face is anything that has excessive volume on the sides: it is just going to make your face appear rounder so you want to avoid doing any teasing on the sides. Ok? So make sure that your sides stay really sleek and are angled more in towards the face. That will help in slimming the face down. And those are a few styles that you would want to avoid if you have a round face.
