Hi! I am Jenece Amella, makeup artist and owner of stylesbyjenece.com in Denver, Colorado. Today, we're going to discuss hair and makeup for your face shape. What's important? Let's minimize flaws, maximize your beauty and balance that face to create the ultimate oval shape. The oval shape is the perfect-shaped face. Not that any other shape is not nice, but that was the one that's most balanced.
So what we're trying to do is create that oval face with all the different shapes. Now keep in mind that you won't always hit the exact shape on the mark, but you'll find similarities in every shape that will fit what you actually have and go from there.
Round and Square Face Shapes Are Equidistant
So if you think you have a round face, make sure you can measure between hairline, chin, cheek to cheek. This should be equal in both areas, so perfectly round. Now the round face is very similar to the square face, also equal in distance from side to side and hairline to chin, only the square face has more of angles on the chin line. The cheekbones are a little more prominent, and the forehead is a little more prominent as well. So you've got really chiseled and angular bone structure.
Oval and Long Face Shapes Are Similar
If you have oval or long, you might see some similarities with the long and the oval, just keep in mind that the long face is definitely longer from your hairline to your chin and thinner in your cheek to cheek. The oval is pretty much a perfect oval shape, where you definitely have a nice curve around the chin and a nice curve around the hairline.
Heart Face Ships Taper at the Chin
The heart-shaped face is different in measurement being that it is wider up at the forehead and pointier down at the chin, actually making it look as if it is a heart-shape. Think Reese Witherspoon, she is the ultimate heart-shaped face. Thanks for watching this video on face shape basics.
