Transcript:What's a Bead Loom?
Hi My name is Katie and I am here today to show you what a beading loom is.
History of Bead Looms
For many years Native American tribes have used and still use loom beading for decorating there
clothes and regalia for dancing. Many people have caught onto this art as a hobby to make beautiful pieces of jewelry and art work.
Where to Find a Bead Loom
Beading looms are usually made of wood or metal. The smaller metal looms are used for fine, short and narrow projects and are available at any craft store and run under $10. For larger, longer and wider projects a wooden loom may be used and usually run around $20. Wooden looms are also adjustable.
Types of Jewelery from Bead Looms
For the basics of this video, I will be showing you a metal loom. You can make many things with a beading loom such as a beaded bracelet, a beaded ring, a belt or a hat band. You can make many other things with beading loom. Use your imagination!
