Transcript:How to Make a Brown Sugar Brisket Rub

Hi, this is Angela with, and today I am going to show you how to make a brown sugar brisket rub. This is a sweet yet spicy brisket rub, and taste delicious. It is perfect for seasoning a brisket.

Ingredients for the Brown Sugar Brisket Rub

To make this recipe you will need:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • 1/3 cup paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/3 cup chili powder
  • 1/3 cup ground black pepper

Mix Together the Brown Sugar Brisket Rub

Mix the ingredients into a bowl. You can use additional ingredients if you want to personalize your rub. Stir until everything is mixed well. Dark brown sugar tends to clump up when using in a rub. If you use dark brown sugar, spread it out on a cooking sheet, and cook a 200 degrees for an hour. This makes the consistency better for sprinkling.

Tips for Applying the Brown Sugar Brisket Rub

Before applying the rub, cut some of the fat off of the brisket. This helps the rub stick to the brisket better. Sprinkle the rub all over the brisket. Pack it tightly. You want the rub to create a hard crust on the outside of the brisket.

Tips for Storing the Brown Sugar Brisket Rub

Store the rub by placing it in a plastic container or place it in a plastic bag. The rub should last for two to three days. This brown sugar brisket rub is good for any meat that you'd like to grill or barbecue.
