Transcript:How to Make a Basic Pulled Pork Rub
Hi, I'm Mike Jordan and I'm here for About.com. Today, we are going to make a basic pork rub using a recipe from About.com's Barbecues and Grilling site.
Basic Pork Rub Ingredients
You will need:
- 1/3 c. paprika
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tbsp. black pepper
- 2 tbsp. salt
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. white pepper
Preparing the Basic Pork Rub
In a bowl, combine the paprika, sugar, black pepper, salt, dry mustard, cayenne pepper, and white pepper. Stir thoroughly. Rub 1/2 the mixture into the meat 12-24 hours before cooking, and then apply the remaining rub before smoking.
