Transcript:Cherries Jubilee

Hi, I’m Roblé for About.com. Today I’m going to show you how to make Cherries Jubilee. Here we go.

Ingredients for Cherries Jubilee:

Here are our ingredients.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 shot of brandy
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 1 15 ounce can pitted cherries

Mix Cherries, Sugar and Cornstarch

The first thing we want to do is open this can of cherries. The next thing we want to do is pour the juice directly into a pan. Next we want to add in the sugar and the cornstarch. Next we want to mix in sugar and cornstarch until it is fully dissolved. The cornstarch that we added in will make the mixture thicken as it comes to a boil. As you can see.

Add Brandy and Other Ingredients to Cherries Jubilee

The next thing that we want to do is to add in the brandy. Let the mixture boil for 30 seconds, this will cook off the alcohol that is in the brandy. 30 seconds later.... Now you want to add in the cherries. Let the mixture come back to a boil as you see here. Let it cook for another two minutes. Two minutes later our mixture is nice and hot. I am going to turn off the heat.

Serve Cherries Jubilee with Ice Cream

I’m going to pour the hot cherries directly into a bowl. As you see here, I have a couple scoops up ice cream right in a bowl. Now I’m going to ladle over some of the hot cherries. And here you have your cherries Jubilee.
