Transcript:How to Make a Baby Elvis Costume
Hi, My name is Christina Gavenda today. Today I will be showing you how to make a baby Elvis costume. Making your own baby Elvis costume is so easy and a great costume for a baby boy!
Elvis Costume Items
For the baby Elvis costume you will need:
- White button down shirt or zipped jacket
- White or black pants
- Red scarf
- Large baby sunglasses
- Glue gun and
- A medium sized bag of sequins
Most of these items can be found around the house for an easy, cost effective solution to a Halloween costume. Going to a used store to find the fabric and the outfit can also save you money.
Add Sequins for the Elvis Effect
To make the Elvis shirt, you will need to heat up your hot glue gun according to the manufacturer’s directions. When the gun is heated, begin adding sequins to the front of the shirt. Start wide at the shoulders and taper down to along the buttons towards the waist line. Make several rows of sequins in this fashion. Use gold sequins along the belt line to create a faux belt. You can space your sequins as far apart as you need to, in order to ensure you have enough sequins. It can also add a nice touch to glue a sequin onto each button of the shirt.
To make the Elvis pants, add matching sequins to the bottom of the pant legs. Make the sequins into a triangle shape at the outside hems of the pant legs.
Accessorize the Elvis Costume
To finish the costume, you will want to pop the collar of the shirt, and add a silky red scarf about the neck. Hook a large pair of sunglasses on the baby’s shirt for a finishing touch. Be sure to check if the sunglasses have any loose parts or could possibly pose a choking hazard. Never leave your baby alone with the sunglasses.
