Hi! I am Gretchen Nelson. We are here in Boise, Idaho at the Other Mothers Children Store to talk about age appropriate toys for one year olds.Interactive and Mobile Toys Engage One Year Olds
The average one year old is learning to walk which is really, really exciting and the more mobile, they become, they like to push around toys and pull toys behind them and that encourages them to move around and that's helping them in their growth motor skills. Other toys that one-year olds like are those that they can move around and that they can sorts and things that they can open and close with small flaps and of course being really colorful and making noises are great. They also like to push buttons and all of these things aid in their dexterity with their fingers.This busy ball popper toy is a real favorite with a one year old. It's very colorful and it makes music and it's got one of the levers that they get to press and that makes them feel successful to see them that ball pop up out of the top even the balls themselves are great because as they pop up, and out the child can chase them all around on the floor and pack them around the house and then you can talk with them about all the different colors, and match them to up different things, so even the balls are a great toy to run around with.
Learning Toys are Beneficial to One Year Olds
Reading with kids this age is absolutely critical, because their language is developing so quickly and as your child turns one, their words are becoming recognizable. So looking at simple books with very few words in them is really important. This is a great interactive toy that actually speaks in both English and Spanish which is really cool. And he is going to teach the kids about numbers and counting and there is a also a music involved with him and he's reading a book and this is a great one to be able to have in the play room at home but also to take in the car, or take in the shopping cart to keep baby busy and he is really a really great choice for a 12 month old.I am Gretchen Nelson and those are some great toy choices for one year olds.
