Transcript:How to Make Colored Soap BubblesHi, I'm Stephanie Gallagher for About.com, and today, I will show you how to make homemade colored bubbles for the kids.
Supplies for Making Colored Soap BubblesThe supplies, you will need are:
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup or 4 Tbsp. liquid dishwashing detergent
- 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup (such as Karo syrup) or liquid glycerinand food coloring in any color
- green plastic straws
- and heavy duty paper cups or old frozen juice cans
How to Make Colored Soap BubblesTo make it easier to give the bubbles to the kids, I'm going to whip up the whole recipe in a 2-cup measuring cup.Place the water, dishwashing liquid and corn syrup in the measuring cup (or you can use a bowl), and whisk together until it becomes bubbly. Now add the food coloring - I like to make it a bright green - but you can add as much or as little as you like, and whisk it in.When the bubbles are ready, pour them into cups for the kids.Stir and gather some bubbles with the straw, and then blow out. It's fun to take the bubbles outside, too. Store your colored bubbles in a sealed container.
