Hi I’m Greg Creech with Techedutainment Services a company that provides technology, education and entertainment. We’re filming today for About.com. I want to talk about online scanning software for your viruses.
How Online Virus Scanners Work
Online antivirus software is not a substitute for your installed full service kind of antivirus software. You use online virus scanners to submit files for scanning for viruses, malware, spyware and other types of viruses that can affect your files. The online virus scanners are used with up to date scans. They have the most current information so if you feel as if your installed software is not protecting you fully you can have them scan online for you.
How to Use Online Virus Scanners
The authentic online virus scanners require no install. However, a lot of them today will require some type of download or installation but the scan itself is performed online for you. Online virus scanners are available for most browsers and most file types. But remember this is not a full system antivirus protection package so online scanners, while they’re still around, are rare in most cases. But they still offer the most up to date software for you to use and they are a terrific way of scanning your files if you feel like your current package is not up to date.
