Hi I'm Chris Davis for About.com. Spiral cutting a hot dog before you grill it is quick and easy and looks great.

Instructions for a Spiral-Cut Hot Dog

First take a shish ka bob skewer and slide it through the center of the hot dog. Go slowly so that you don't poke yourself and that you are also able to reach the end. Now place the dog on a cutting surface. With a knife start on one end and roll the dog as the you cut. Remove the skewer. You should have a perfectly cut spiral hot dog.

Cooking the Spiral-Cut Hot Dog

Now place your dog on the grill and cook. Spiral cut dogs are great Because they don't curl up which enables them to fit on a bun perfectly and gives you more surfaces area for grilling.
