Hey guys, Greyson Ferguson here with About.com. Today we are going to look at how to use Delta Airline's online check-in.

Use Confirmation Information for Delta's Online Check-In System

Open your Internet browser and navigate to Delta.com. Once on the main page click "Check In." This loads the online check-in feature. It is possible to check in within 24 hours of your flight. Anything before and you do not have the option.

You are given several features for checking into your flight. You can either type in the confirmation number given to you when purchasing the ticket through Delta.com (it is printed in the email confirmation you receive), your SkyMiles number, which is Delta's frequent flier program, the credit card number used to buy the ticket, or simply the flight number.

If you can't remember any of these input your departure and arrival cities, then click on the flight time of your plane. Click on your flight.

Tips for Checking Baggage in Delta's Online Check-In System

If you need to check baggage, click the "Baggage" feature and input the number of bags you need to check. When arriving at the airport you must then go up to the Delta counter and check in the number of bags. However, if you are checking bags you might as well just check in with the Delta staff at this time.

Click the print confirmation option for your flight, then click "File," "Print" and print the flight confirmation. This prints out your boarding pass, allowing you to go directly to security if you have no bags to check upon arrival to the airport. This is especially helpful if you are traveling during the holidays, as the Delta line is often congested due to large number of flights.
